Office Enemies: Riley and Owen's Full Story, Characters & Ending

The war starts on day one. Owen steals Riley's desk, so she gives him a child-sized one. He doctors her slides with embarrassing pictures of Marcus, and she sends her actress friend to wreck his investor lunch with a ridiculous scene. A janitor locks them in the office overnight, and they nearly kiss.

At a company spa day, Riley eats peanut sauce by mistake, and Owen saves her with her EpiPen and puts her to bed. A few days later her fake date at a bar backfires when the man turns out to be Owen's friend. Owen admits the jealousy plan worked, kisses her, and they end up back at the office together.

Marcus then offers Owen the job alone, and Owen asks for time to think. Then Riley's mother has a crisis, and Owen learns her secret. He keeps it, and Riley agrees to be his plus-one at his sister Claire's wedding, as friends.

At the hotel, Tessa greets Owen with a kiss. Owen tells Riley the truth about that day: he never slept with Tessa, and he thinks she drugged him. At the wedding, his father calls Riley names and she throws champagne in his face, not knowing her own drink has been spiked. As the drug kicks in, Owen's mother tells her to leave. Claire shows her the video Owen was supposed to film of the guests. It is mostly Riley. She marches back and kisses Owen in front of Tessa.

Back at work, Riley finds Owen's unsigned contract for her job. Marcus fires her, says Owen flagged her mother's wristband, and takes away the treatment. Her mother lands in critical condition, and Owen, fired too, has gone home to his family.

Tessa lures Riley to a coffee shop with Owen's phone and offers money if she leaves town. Riley records her as she brags: she drugged Owen with his mother's help, sent the email from his account, and spiked Riley's drink. Riley swaps their teacups and leaves with the proof. Owen walks out on his family to stand by her, and when Marcus offers the wristband in exchange for Riley's patent, Owen promises to work for him for free. Her mother survives the night.

Owen walks into the board meeting as if to pitch the government contract, then puts Marcus's bank records on the screen. Marcus has been draining the company for years and tried to erase Riley's name from the Lifeline patent. The board has him dragged out and offers Owen the top job. He says there is a better candidate.

Riley is back in charge and her mother is healthy again. At their old coffee shop, Owen pays for her coffee, then opens a cheesecake box with a ring inside, just like his first proposal. Riley laughs through tears and says yes.
