Chained to My Nemesis: Tessa and Shane's Full Story, Characters & Ending

The first day goes badly. Shane drags Tessa to a party, where Rachel tries to slap her and ends up dumping punch on them both. Back home they have to shower back to back with the timer beeping, and Shane almost kisses her. She builds a wall of pillows in his bed.

Conrad starts playing dirty. He tempts Shane with a model, then with a drugged glass of scotch, which Shane refuses. During a party Shane throws to annoy Tessa, two drunk guests knock down a beehive and Tessa is stung. Shane carries her inside and saves her with her EpiPen, then falls asleep guarding the bathroom door.

Little by little, they find their way back to each other. Rachel exposes Tessa's secret notebook online, and someone locks Tessa in a bathroom to run out the clock. Shane rescues her in time. Then he shows her his own secret: the pressed flower she gave him as a kid. She kisses him and blurts out "I love you," and he pulls away.

Under pressure, Rachel admits that Conrad offered her half the fortune to break them up. Conrad answers by bringing up Natalie, Shane's ex-fiancée. Shane tells Tessa the truth: after his parents died he started drinking, and Natalie left. Tessa takes him to see her mother, who has early-onset Alzheimer's. For a moment her mother remembers her, and Shane kisses Tessa for real.

Tessa wants a real commitment before they go further, and Shane says he cannot give one. Then Conrad sends out invitations to the parents' memorial gala with Shane and Tessa as the guests of honor. Edmond shows Shane a private video in which Gram-Gram explains she chose Tessa because Tessa brings out the best in him.

At the gala, Natalie shows up with a little boy who calls Shane "Daddy" by mistake. Tessa steps away, and Conrad's men drug her and carry her to a van. Shane fights them off, calls her his girlfriend, and together they knock the men out. Then Conrad appears with a gun, and Rachel knocks them both out.

They wake up chained in a barn. Rachel has injected Tessa with bee venom, and Conrad's offer is simple: separate and she might live. Tessa refuses to let them win. She has Shane break her glasses so she can pick the lock with the wire, and they make it back to the mansion, but Shane has to uncuff to run for the EpiPen. He saves her life. The clock runs out.

Shane promises to work and pay Tessa's tuition himself, and they finally sleep together. Then Edmond recovers old security footage: Conrad cutting something under the hood of Shane's parents' car before their fatal crash.

Shane and Tessa set a trap. Tessa knocks Rachel out with her own selfie stick and ties her up in a closet. Shane waves the footage at Conrad, who breaks it and boasts that he cut the brakes, adding that he never planned to share the money with Rachel. Rachel hears everything and turns on him.

Tessa reveals that Rachel's phone was livestreaming to millions of followers the whole time, and Shane was wearing a wire. Conrad and Rachel leave in a police car. Since Conrad cheated, the lawyer agrees they can run the challenge again. Tessa gets down on one knee with the cuffs and asks Shane to be chained to her one more time. He says, "Always."

Six months later, Tessa and Shane are both taking classes and say "I love you." To celebrate the new semester, Tessa brings home a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs.
