My Neighbor's a Vampire: June and Orv's Full Story, Characters & Ending

June and Orv team up, and the flirting never stops. At the next HOA meeting Peg bans wreaths, aimed squarely at June's. When Orv storms toward Peg, June sees his eyes flash and hears him hiss, then tells herself she imagined it. They sneak into Marnie's apartment and find a thermos of activated charcoal, the worst wellness trend of all time. When June realizes the killer might come back to the scene, she bolts and leaves Orv standing there.

June gets to know Colette and Penelope, whom Peg's clique is bullying over the Christmas lights Penelope needs to sleep. Orv turns on the charm with Peg to fix it, which stings June more than she admits. The next morning Kate is found bloodless in the fountain.

One night on Orv's balcony, the door jams just as dawn breaks, and June watches him burn in the sunlight. She drags him inside and offers him her wrist. Now the truth is out. He is a vampire, he has not killed anyone, and he has been helping her to find the other vampire hiding in Lioncourt. They finally give in to each other. The next day June finds a fresco of a woman in his study, and he tells her his real name: Orpheus. The woman is Eurydice, the wife he lost when he looked back.

Then Colette is found drained. June begs Orv to come and turn her, but Colette dies before he can, and he admits he would never have turned her without her consent. He admits he once killed people he loved in a blood frenzy his sire set up. The fight turns ugly, and June throws him out of her home and her life. She and Faye take Penelope in.

When Peg turns up dead too, Penelope pushes June back to the case and locks June and Orv in Peg's office until they talk. On Peg's computer they find the clue: messages teasing Anastasia that she hasn't aged a day in twenty years. Anastasia's charcoal habit fits too. Now they know who the vampire is.

June walks into Anastasia's kitchen alone, as bait. Anastasia freezes her with a word and brags about her kills, including Lydia Murray, the realtor whose twenty-year-old cold case June had been chasing. She killed her friends, she says, because she was bored and hungry. Then she sips from her thermos and starts to choke. Earlier, while June kept her talking at the door, Orv had poured liquid silver into it.

Anastasia changes into her monstrous form and pins Orv in a fight outside, but he only needs to keep her busy. June sharpens a wooden spoon and stakes her from behind. Detective Rojas, who has the evidence that Anastasia killed her friends, decides he is too tired to ask questions about the stake.

June's podcast lands a public radio interview, a book offer and an adaptation. Walking home with Orv in the moonlight, she wears a blood-red ruby engagement ring. In a final teaser, Orv spots a woman in a library and tells June they have to run. It is his sire.
