The Hollywood Secret: Michaela and Brody's Full Story, Characters & Ending

The romance launches with a walk in the park, where Brody chases down a purse thief, and a kiss outside Michaela's apartment for the photographers. On the red carpet Michaela shuts down a rude reporter, and the public eats up their "Cinderella story". At work, though, Henry wants dirt on Brody, and Michaela refuses to give him any.

Then Jack talks Brody into a wild party, and photos of him with two models flood the internet. Michaela storms the mansion, slaps him and calls it off. Brody wins her back with an apology spelled in flowers on her car, a romantic dinner and a slow dance. He also gets her a rare interview with Orlanda Winfell, who tells Michaela she has a future in real journalism.

Henry calls the Orlanda piece useless and demands scandal, so Brody hands Michaela a celebrity scoop of his own. On the set of his new movie, Michaela meets his old co-star Anastasia. When she asks why Brody was leaving rehab, he snaps at her. Later he apologizes, tells her he really likes her, and kisses her for real.

Anastasia kisses Brody in his dressing room just as Michaela walks in, but this time Michaela believes him. At a premiere party, Anastasia overhears Mark saying the romance is fake, and Brody admitting it may not be anymore. Michaela and Brody spend the night together.

The next morning everything falls apart. The fake relationship is breaking news, and someone sends Michaela photos of Brody with Anastasia. He swears they are fake, but she throws him out. Then the rehab photos she deleted come out too: Steven found them saved in the cloud. Henry fires Michaela, and Brody is sure she sold him out. He fires Mark rather than tell the truth about his rehab visits, and he accuses Michaela of being just another sleazy pap.

A week later, Michaela is broke and miserable on her couch when Orlanda knocks on her door. She is launching a magazine and wants Michaela as her lead journalist, with a first story ready to go.

Brody is visiting his mother, Margaret, in rehab when she shows him Orlanda's first issue. The secret he has been protecting is hers: he was at the clinic for his mother, who has been struggling since his father died. Michaela's first story is about Brody, and it shows the real man behind the headlines.

Brody and Michaela meet again. He tells her the truth about his mother and apologizes for not believing her and for what he said. She apologizes too. He tells her these last weeks have changed his life and that he doesn't want to be just a headline with her: he is in love with her. This time, the paparazzi are the two of them.
