The Sound of Us: Mila and Logan's Full Story, Characters & Ending

Jaxx has new orders: Mila will record a single with Phoenix Storm and pretend to date him for the cameras, and she cannot be seen with anyone else. Behind the scenes, Jaxx is blackmailing Hector over gambling debts, pushing him to sign a business plan called Mila Forever.

At a party, Jaxx gets Mila drunk and hands her to Phoenix. Jealous after seeing Victoria flirt with Logan, Mila goes off with Phoenix, and when she tells him to stop, he does not. Logan breaks in, throws Phoenix out, and carries her home. She asks him to stay, and he lies down beside her, fully dressed. The next morning she barely remembers what happened.

Then come the misunderstandings. Mila finds Victoria in Logan's room and thinks the worst. Upset, she signs a paper from Jaxx without reading it, and Logan overhears Jaxx telling Hector she has just signed away the rights to her voice and image. At a fan event, a woman with a knife lunges at Mila and Logan whisks her away to a safehouse. There he warns her that Jaxx is after the rights to her voice and songs, and they almost kiss. Back home, she later walks in on him pinning Victoria to a wall in Jaxx's office, and she shuts him out.

What Mila does not know is that Logan had just caught Victoria photographing the Mila Forever file. Jaxx uses the rift to send Mila to a fake meeting at Phoenix's house, where Phoenix drugs her drink. Logan tracks her down in time. When he says what Phoenix tried at the party, Mila's memory comes flooding back, and she vows to press charges. That night, she and Logan finally stop fighting what they feel.

Victoria takes a closer look at her photos and finds a plan for Mila's death: Jaxx means to sell an AI version of the singer and get rich. Instead of selling the scoop, she calls Logan. The papers carry Hector's signature, and Mila's own. Pushed by Jaxx, a drunk and ashamed Hector takes an overdose of pills, and Mila and Logan get him to the hospital in time.

In his hospital bed, Hector confesses everything: the gambling that started after his wife died, the lost fortune, the blackmail. He swears he never knew Jaxx wanted Mila dead. When Jaxx shows up acting concerned, they all play along. Logan hacks into Jaxx's files and finds a map of where on stage Mila would be killed. Jaxx moves the next concert up, and Logan prepares a trap of his own.

On concert night, Logan's team takes down one gunman in the crowd. A second one fires, and Logan throws himself in front of Mila and takes the bullet. Victoria films everything, and Hector tackles Jaxx as he tries to slip out. Logan wakes up in the hospital with Mila at his side, and the news reports that Jaxx has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

At a press conference, Mila lays out the whole plan, thanks Victoria for bringing the truth to light and calls Logan up for a kiss in front of the cameras. Then she announces that the Mila Forever tour is canceled. She is still making music, but on her own terms.

In the final scene, Mila sits alone with a guitar in a small, quiet venue, the kind she always dreamed of. Her father and Victoria are in the audience. She dedicates a stripped-down song to Logan, who watches her from the shadows.
